Coming up on Friday 27th September, 6pm at the Hawarden Estate Farm Shop is a collaborative event between Jwrnal and The Whittlings as part of Taste North East Wales, a 40 day celebration of events focussed on local food and drink.

Here’s what to expect;

David White by Barney Murray .jpeg

Starting with a spoon ‘blank’, David will teach you all of the skills needed to carve into your spoon. This is a brilliant introduction to a new hobby or the perfect excuse to brush up on existing skills. David is a self-taught green woodworker and a fantastic teacher.

Once you are finished, you will sit around a campfire and enjoy an autumnal feast, using your spoon - of course!

The menu will be carefully tailored to complement the season, the surrounding landscape and will feature only the best locally sourced, quality ingredients. Expect an autumnal feast focussed on flavours from the woods - autumn root vegetables from the Hawarden Estate cooked on the fire, pine-needle cocktails, tea and traditional, warming Welsh cawl.

All ingredients will be sourced locally to Hawarden from quality and sustainable producers.

There is a limited number of tickets for this event, so please, snap up yours quick!
